Problem:
This week someone asked me if I could help him with a problem with Tresorit. He was backing up his emails, 5-6 GB, to Tresorit.
Every time he went to copy files, after a few minutes the Internet connection no longer worked. Windows 11 indicated that there was no connection anymore. Rebooting was the only solution after which the wireless Internet worked again.
It was not the wireless network’s fault because the user could still use the Internet on his smartphone. In addition, he was able to reproduce the problem up to three times. If the user did not copy the files the Internet connection continued to work.
A Windows 11 24H2 laptop is being used with the latest updates.
Solution:
I first looked in the Windows Log by right-clicking the Windows start menu button and then clicking “Event logs.” Here I didn’t see any errors. I did see a message that an Internet connection could not be made. That made sense because the wireless network connection had disappeared. But not the reason why.
To solve the problem, I reinstalled the Tresorit software. You don’t lose any data or have to log in again. This also worked in the past when Tresorit would no longer start up automatically.

- Double-click the downloaded file and click “Install”
- On the next screen, click “Repair” followed by “Install”
- Installation ready? Restart Windows
